Windmill Hill ward covers a number of distinct lively communities and enjoys some great facilities such as Victoria and Perrett Park, some of the Northern Slopes, 3 primary schools (soon to be 4), the Jamia mosque and Windmill Hill Community Centre. I believe it is vital that we keep these local resources and ensure that everyone has access to them.
The Green Party strongly supports the provision of local services, whether public ones such as GP practices and schools, or businesses such as shops. Local services reduce the need for transport, which takes up time and money, and increases the sense of community. It also means quieter, safer streets and better air quality.
There are some fantastic community groups in the area and I am visiting as many as I can. In addition, Windmill Hill Green Party members are assisting me in contacting residents to find out what matters to you most.
